Witam. Mam pytanie.

Cytat:
P1543 is a California only fault. What the code is saying is that the computer knows the thermostat has cycled but the radiator is not properly changing temperature (it is staying too cool).
California cars have a sensor mounted on the radiator to determine the temperature of the core. If the temperature of the coolant at the engine is hot enough to justify thermostat opening and the radiator sensor does not see a temperature increase, this fault is set.
This is in place to make sure people don't run without a thermostat primarily, but it is a function of stricter California requirements. You don't have to live in California to have this, but you can't live there and not have this. Depending on what region of the country your vehicle was destined for determines if it has the California regulations or not (many other places have adopted the requirements, counties in NY, ME, VT etc). This is also used as a function of a DOR type radiator.. DOR is Direct Ozone Reduction. If you haven't heard of this, don't worry it is very rare and not many people are aware of it. Prepare to slap your forehead on this one.
Direct Ozone Reduction incorporates a chemical catalyst coating on the fins of the radiator to cause a chemical reaction as air crosses the radiator Much the same way your catalytic converter uses a chemical reaction to reduce hydrocarbons, lessening your emissions, the DOR radiator uses the chemical reaction of the air crossing the radiator fins to reduce Ozone from the atmosphere.
....Yes, this is put in place to help clean the air you drive through and has NO impact on your engine running condition or efficiency. Yay.

If you've had an accident and the radiator was replaced, you have the wrong radiator. Pretty straight forward there.
If anyone has been in there, you have a good chance that the wiring got disconnected or damaged by accident. The sensor/connector is located near the top center of the radiator on the engine side.

If the sensor is present and the radiator is original, your follow up possibilities (besides a bad sensor.... never have I seen this happen) would be low coolant level, wiring or computer issue. Technically a water pump failure would do the same thing, however this is nearly impossible to occur on this engine due to the strong design of the pump.

.... odds are something happened with the radiator or sensor, it nearly always comes down to this.
