Temat postu: Need a bit of assistance with English/Polish vBulletin issue
Hi everyone,
I've finally got my vBulletin install running that I've wanted to bring up for about a year. I'm trying to support the Polish language on it, and I've run into a problem with the language packs available. Everything I find is written in such a way that any editor I open it in scrambles the characters. vBulletin has the same issue and it's killing my Polish language support. I'm trying to do everything in UTF-8, but I don't seem to be capable of importing the XML file into any of my editors cleanly so that I can save it as UTF-8. Is there anyone here who has a quick simple solution to this? I'll email anyone the XML file who can open it correctly and save it in UTF-8 and mail it back, or if you have permissions on the vB board you could just download it here:

You can see the board at http://forums.trojwies.us/. Thanks for any help anyone can offer...I don't need a finished language pack, I just need clean Polish text to work from :-) .

Of course, right after I post this, I finally came up with a solution (I think). I posted the details on the vBulletin board, but I found an online character set converter that was able to process the file for me into a format that I could work with. Thanks for the space, if anyone here is from the Istebna area, please check out the site...

Use PsPad free editor: www.pspad.com

Polish lang encoding could be in few variants:

proper and formal, often used in unix world: isolatin2 (iso-8859-2) or
unformal but also often used especially in windows world: win1250
proper but very rerely used: utf-8

Thanks for the reply, it was in iso-8859-2 and I was able to convert it to UTF8 online.
