English Forum - Greetings from Colorado, USA
Anonymous - 15-08-2006, 06:34 Temat postu: Greetings from Colorado, USA Just wanted to introduce myself, if I can get a translator site working to my satisfaction I'll try posting something in the Galant forum sometime. Thanks to Dorian Rochowski (do you have to be a musician with a name like Dorian? ) for pointing me to this site and Papa Zegar for cluing me into the fact that there are Mitsu clubs in Poland. I have an interest in Poland for a few different reasons, my mother's side of the family is from Istebna and I have a friend that used to live in Krakow named Marcin Niewalda that I'm trying to track down.
Update: I finally found Marcin, thanks to Shovel for the assistance.
Here's a picture of my car at the drag strip...I've also run it on the road course a few times.

Thanks, I like your CSM, too. I wish the Galant were lighter like your car, but I like the traction of AWD. Someday I hope to have an EVO, but so far my wife has spent the money that I would have used for that . I am excited about the free software developments available for the EVO ECU now.

Not familiar with it, but if it's an AWD turbo Mirage it must have been an interesting car.

Look at Colt History in Colt subforum. 1988-1992 C5x model
It was the same C53A with 4G61T engine but equiped with intercooler (the same that was in 1G Eclipse Turbo) and AWD.
Max power 145 or 160 BHP - different data about that.
ONLY for Japan only RHD.

Carl - beautiful Galant. Is it one of the Special (Limited) Edition (2000 cars) in this ('91) year?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, of course, but if you're a Mitsubishi fan I guess you have to consider it beautiful . Yes, it's number 922 of 2000, but the numbering system was a bit silly since it had nothing to do with VIN numbers. I'm pretty sure that somebody at the factory just took a big box of those badges and installed them at random into a parking lot full of GVR4s. The only thing that initially attracted me to it was the performance potential of the AWD Eclipse with a useable back seat. I learned to appreciate the appearance over time, but initially I didn't care for the look of the car.
I owned a turbocharged Ford Mustang for years, but was tired of putting drag racing tires on it at the track. That's what motivated me to look at AWD cars, and a ride in a fast one convinced me. I paid $3500 usd for it in 1999, and have broken many parts on it since then . At high elevation (almost 2000m) it ran 16.0 seconds in the 1/4 mile when completely stock. It's been a very fun car to make faster. I haven't had as much time to work on it in the last couple of years, and it's actually gotten a bit slower, I need to figure out why. I went to the track a couple of weeks ago and couldn't do better than 13.1. I've been experimenting with running ethanol in it and that may have caused me unexpected problems.

Yes - i'm really a Mitsubishi fan. As you can see i've my own 2 old Mitsubishi's and they're still ready to drive. All time .
And plese remeber - beauty mens not only the external appearance, but also the engine, scores, awd transmission etc.
I'm dreaming about Galant EA 97-02/03 (especialy 2002 - corrected brakes, collapsed ext. mirrors) with V6 engine, but now i've other priorities. You know something about our prices and income. But still Galant E3 is - imho - sound mechanics quality and is simple (easy to repair by myself - look my www, only in polish lang.). And the other possible equipment (like AWD, AWS - all wheel steering, 4G63T, ECS - electronic suspension and so on) is the best in Galant history.
regards

I agree. I ended up removing my AWS, though. I did it to make room for a stronger rear differential. Also, I didn't find that I liked how the car felt with it, I believe it feels more stable without, especially when driving hard on dirt. The one thing I liked about it was that I feel it made driving in strong, gusty crosswinds easier. You could correct for the wind without having to rotate the vehicle as much as a normal car. Maybe in Poland you don't get strong crosswinds? I grew up in Wyoming, where it is very windy, sometimes commercial trucks are actually blown off the road and tipped over while driving in strong winds there.

Thanks, I didn't realize you had an A/T...no wonder you're on the dsm-ecu list. Have you chipped the TCU yet? Are you still using the stock turbo and injectors?

I also must add my comment to your car Carl - nice VR4. A lot of people in Poland searching for this model.

Cytat: | Have you chipped the TCU yet? Are you still using the stock turbo and injectors? |
TCU is not yet chipped but it is socketed and only waiting for me to bye EPROM Eraser or just EEPROM. There is 14b turbo installed from my GST (GST has big 16g), but injectors are stock (white, so I thing 390c). I wonder were to by not expensive 550c ...
Is it good idea to move my good parts to GSX A/T... how much power could handle A/T ?
