XA ASX, CJ Lancer and ZH Outlander Vehicles with 4B11 or 4B12 petrol engines.
Identifying features
Engines built between 28/08/2006 and 17/06/2011 may be affected.
See attached VIN range.
What are the defects?
Due to inappropriate material of the ancillary equipment V ribbed belt on the engine, the resin pulley may wear unevenly. The belt can be damaged causing it to come off.
What are the hazards?
If the defect occurs, drivers will experience an increase in steering effort, and with continued use drivers may experience a loss of electrical and drive power, posing a potential collision hazard.
